Hitting the people where it hurts..THEIR POCKETS!

Posted in Uncategorized by iranallday on January 27, 2010

One of the strongest needs in any society is a bank system. Whenever a country has its big banks claiming bankruptcy this directly hurts the people. It causes anger, hopelessness and in some cases depression. In Iran we currently see a population who has felt betrayed and angry. Over 40 students in a single month have been arrested their mentors which are professors have been forced to resign and one Professor Ali Mohammad died by a bomb attached to a motorcycle. A nation filled with citizens left with no sense of a bright future and  now the last two things that Iranians are left to be dependant on is money and oil.

Unfortunately both of these important needs look to be slowly dying. With the recent reports of big banks contemplating filing for bankruptcy the government is directly hurting their own citizens where it hurts which is their pockets. Iran currently has a very high unemployment rate despite the government claiming it to be only 12 percent so now imagine a country with a failing bank and unemployed citizens, well you get the picture. Add this with the amount of people who are detained daily in Iran and it becomes a country that becomes unstable. An angry society becomes uncooperative with a government that abuses its people and prevents them from trying to ease matters.
It has been recently reported from http://persian2english.com/?p=4937 that a witness from Isfahan reported that "a large amount of people requested from their banks to withdraw large sums of money." To make things as simple as possible Iran's economy is something very important to keep eyes on because if these big banks are collapsing it can hurt the Islamic Republic from many aspects.
